Felt carpets

A tradition of felt carpets is deemed to originate from Central Asia. Felt was widely used by nomadic tribes. They used felt to make yurts, which floors and doors would be covered with felt of different sizes and patterns. Today, handmade carpets from felt are made adhering to the old traditions, while dyeing with natural dyes (birch leaves, three-lobe beggar-ticks, etc.) adds reticence to the wide palette of colours. Charged with artist’s energy, felt carpets look as if alive, heeling, long-living and radiating subtle beauty.
